Nice, Article. One small correction. Kirby did have a large reference filling cabinet. It’s quite easy to find examples of Kirby using it. What Kirby didn’t do very often was swipe figures. Even there, there are instances where he used reference for figures, but he didn’t make a regular practice of it like many artists.
