The Avengers #25 [1966] – Cover

A nice Kirby/Ayers cover, the Avengers facing off against Doctor Doom. I especially like the posing of this cover, with the Avengers getting ready for action and Doom just standing up to them in the foreground, supremely confident.

Sure looks good – but what about the story?
I dimmly remember the Cap/Hawkeye/Witch/Quicksilver-Team did have some exotic sceneries in their stories, but not very remarkable enemies. Did I err?

Oh yeah, before I forget again…
top site… nifty place to be…
I usually start my day checking for new entries. Haven’t linked you yet on my Weblog, but you are of course my first choice 🙂
    Good work, beautiful.

    Thanks for the kind words.

It’s a non-Kirby story inside (as with most entries where I post the cover). Some nice Heck/Ayers work in this issue, a few good bits in the story, but I always get confused by the beginning where they try to explain the whole Doom/Kang/Rama-Tut connection.

hello. there’s so much dynamism in jack’s design and figures. I’m curious as to whether he used reference material for the scandinavian style house in the background.
