Wow! That was great! Ever since I moved away from home (1969) I've been trying to replace the Captain 3D comics my parents made me give away (along with the rest of the pile) when we moved just after my 11th birthday - June 1961.

I'll forward this site to my kids so they can see that the old man really had such a comic at one time.

Thanks. Jim

I believe I have never seen or heard of the Picture News story. Looked it up here at the museum, but the title and date don't ring a bell. Was it reprinted somewhere (Theakston, maybe)?

Great stuff, indeed, Harry. You inspired me to post scans of all the layers of page 10 of "The Man from the World of D" in the Gallery.

Ger,

Funny you should mention that because Real Fact and Picture News are on my list of comics that I want to review in the coming weeks. They are such oddball comics in a number of ways.

Great stuff and worth the wait!

As for an early appearance of the austere style, maybe you should have a closer look at that three (?) page story Jack did for DC's Reac Fact comics (was it #10, 11 or 6?). It certainly is different from his other work at the time.
