Erik Larsen talks about some of the upcoming revivals of Kirby created (and Kirby Estate owned) concepts over at Image, including the previously announced CAPTAIN VICTORY collection, possible collections and completions of the Topps published material of the 1990s and all new material.

I don’t think he was saying it was forgotten so much as it didn’t exist in the marketplace. A few years ago there were hardly any non-trivial Kirby publications every year (especially if you exclude the fan-produced ones like TJKC). Compare 2004 with 2006, for example (and 2004 was much better than the years before). And 2007 looks to have even more. There’s Kirby stuff in print today (DEVIL DINOSAUR, ETERNALS, SILVER STAR) that the most optimistic fans wouldn’t have predicted five years ago, so clearly publishers are finding a market for it all.
